§ 92.017. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • (A) The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee shall advise and make recommendations to the Township Board regarding the planning, maintaining, improving, financing and supervision of the township parks. Further, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee shall have the authority to maintain, improve, manage and control township parks if so directed by the Township Board.
    (B) The Township Board, in the name of the township, may accept gifts, grants and other devises of land suitable for township parks, and gifts and bequests of money on behalf of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. The money shall be held in trust and used for the acquisition and improvement of land suitable for township parks or improvements to equipment, facilities or play structures located in the township parks.
    (C) The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee may request the Township Board to acquire land or condemn land for its purposes, in accordance with the condemnation laws of the state.
